Local authority regeneration

We offer long-term partnerships and innovative development solutions to local authorities.  Our approach is to rationalise property portfolios, release net land value enabling local authorities play a lead role in local regeneration and provide new civic facilities.  We generate bespoke proposals to meet local authorities’ accommodation needs and regeneration objectives.

We have already secured commercial close on two of the UK’s first Local Asset Backed Vehicle (LABV) projects; Croydon and Tunbridge Wells, delivering local regeneration through a long-term partnership approach where the Authority commit land and John Laing provide equity and development expertise.

John Laing will maximise the value of existing land assets through the planning process and subsequent development including commercial and residential uses. As well as maxcimising value, this structure enables a Local Authority to participate in driving forward its regeneration agenda.

We are building on these early successes through targeted business development activities, and actively engaging and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities and their advisers at an early stage in the project to ensure that our offer remains relevant to the market.

To discuss investment and development options for local authority estate regeneration, please contact Stuart Yeatman, Director, John Laing on Tel: + 44 (0) 20 7901 3200, or email: stuart.yeatman@laing.com.
