Home > Corporate & social responsibility > Staff commitment Staff commitmentIn 2007, John Laing launched two schemes to encourage our staff to get fully involved in CR activities.The first scheme required every member of staff to sign up to a personal CR objective as part of their annual appraisal. Activities range from individual effort for example, helping a charity with specialist advice, or team activities, such as planting trees at a local school. Click on the PDF below to read some examples of what our staff have achieved. The second was the launch of the Chief Executive's awards for innovation in CR. All members of staff were invited to nominate themselves or colleagues, either as individuals or as a team to be considered for an award. Eight of the categories correspond with our CR workstreams, and there is a ninth special award for the person or group that has made the most outstanding contribution to CR. The inaugral awards were presented on 7 November 2007 at an event in London. Click here to see the press release. The scheme was successfully run again in 2008 and we will shortly announce details of the scheme for 2009.
